Awarapan 2 is a upcoming Indian Hindi-language romantic action drama film, directed by Nitin Kakkar, and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, under the banner of Vishesh Films . It is meant as a sequel for the 2007 film Awarapan. The movie stars Emraan Hashmi , Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi . It is scheduled to hit theaters on 14 August 2026 .

Production
Development
Okay so the movie was officially announced by Vishesh Films in March 2025 , and Nitin Kakkar was locked in as the director. Emraan Hashmi also came back, to reprise the role of Shivam.[1]
Casting
Manushi Chhillar was first in the discussion for the female lead part , but she decided not to proceed because of scheduling conflicts.[2] Later on , Disha Patani was brought in for the role. And then Shabana Azmi joined the team in December 2025.[3][4]
Filming
Pre-production started around April 2025 . After that principal photography kicked off in September 2025 , and it wrapped up in June 2026. The shoot took place across Bangkok, Mumbai , Rajasthan and also Malaysia.
Soundtrack
The film songs are handled by Mithoon , Jeet Gannguli , Amaal Mallik and Akhil Sachdeva. The lyric part is written by Rashmi Virag and Sayeed Quadri, while the background score is by Raju Singh.
For the music rights , it was Sony Music who took them.
Also , the tracks "Tera Mera Rishta" and "Toh Phir Aao" from the original Awarapan got reworked for the sequel. And the first single , "Ve Junoon" , came out on 7 July 2026.

Theatrical
The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 14 August 2026, coinciding with the Indian Independence Day weekend.[5][6][7]
Distribution
The distribution rights of the film were acquired by Pen Marudhar.
Marketing
The makers announced the teaser release in late June 2026. The official teaser was released on 29 June 2026. The first song, "Ve Junoon", was released on 7 July 2026.
