Tej Pratap Yadav is an Indian politician, content creator, TV personality, and social media influencer basically from Bihar. He became the founder and national president of the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) , before that he already had a fairly public presence. Previously he served as the Minister of Health, and also handled the Environment, Forest and Climate Change portfolio in the Government of Bihar, which people remember because of how much he spoke about public issues and greener habits. He is also the elder son of former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Rabri Devi.[1][2][3] Outside of formal politics, he is active as a YouTuber, and in 2026 he showed in the Bhojpuri reality show Bhojpuri Bawaal , sharing the stage with a bunch of well known Bhojpuri artists.[4][5][6]

Early Life & Education

Tej Pratap Yadav was born on 16 April 1988, in Gopalganj , Bihar India. He is the eldest son of former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. In his family, there are seven sisters, among them Misa Bharti, and he has one younger brother named Tejashwi Yadav.

He finished his Intermediate (Class 12) through the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) , in 2010.

Career

Political Career

Tej Pratap Yadav stepped into full active politics around 2015, and won election as a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Mahua constituency. From November 2015 to July 2017 he worked as the Minister of Health in the Bihar Government. After that, he also took charge as Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change , where he pushed for environmental awareness and “eco friendly” type measures.

In the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, he was elected from the Hasanpur constituency, and he stayed on as an MLA until 2025.

In May 2025, he got expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal, or RJD , after the party leadership took disciplinary action against him. After he left the party, he started the Team Tej Pratap Yadav platform and sometime after that he went on to establish the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), on 26 September 2025.[7][8][9][10]

Television and YouTube Career

Along with politics, Tej Pratap Yadav is also pretty active in digital entertainment and tv type content. He runs the YouTube channel LR Vlog (@lrvlog1624) where he posts videos about his everyday life, routes and roadtrips, religious visits, physical training , and also political activities. The channel later went past 100,000 subscribers, and that got him the YouTube Silver Creator badge.

After the 2025 Bihar Assembly election, he launched another YouTube channel called TY Vlogs, and in that channel he keeps uploading lifestyle, travel , and public interaction videos , basically everything mixed together.

In 2026, Tej Pratap Yadav broadened his footprint in the entertainment scene too, by joining Bhojpuri Bawaal, a Bhojpuri-language reality television series that features popular faces from the Bhojpuri film and entertainment world. His entry on the show became his television reality-show debut.

Works And Contributions

Tej Pratap Yadav has contributed to public life, in politics digital media and television, kind of all at once. He was a former cabinet minister in the Government of Bihar , and in his role he worked with the departments of Health, Environment, Forest and Climate Change. During that time he pushed for public welfare, along with environmental awareness efforts, you know the usual kind of initiatives that people actually notice.

Besides politics, Yadav also built a solid digital footprint through his YouTube channels. First came LR Vlog then later TY Vlogs . The show tracks the personal and professional journeys of well known Bhojpuri personalities, and it also counted as his debut as a television reality show participant.[11][12]

Achievements and Recognition

Tej Pratap Yadav ha served twice as a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and in the same time held key ministerial roles in the Bihar Government. Apart from politics, he has built a noticeable presence on social media , especially through his YouTube channels, where he covers lifestyle topics and public affairs, and people seem to follow closely. His vlog channel, LR Vlog, reached over 100,000 subscribers , which became a big milestone for his digital journey.
