Tej Pratap Yadav
Tej Pratap Yadav is an Indian politician, content creator, TV personality, and social media influencer basically from Bihar. He became the founder and national president of the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) , before that he already had a fairly public presence. Previously he served as the Minister of Health, and also handled the Environment, Forest and Climate Change portfolio in the Government of Bihar, which people remember because of how much he spoke about public issues and greener habits. He is also the elder son of former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Rabri Devi. Outside of formal politics, he is active as a YouTuber, and in 2026 he showed up as a contestant on the Bhojpuri reality show Bhojpuri Bawaal , sharing the stage with a bunch of well known Bhojpuri artists.
Early Life & Education
Tej Pratap Yadav was born on 16 April 1988, in Gopalganj , Bihar India. He is the eldest son of former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. In his family, there are seven sisters, among them Misa Bharti, and he has one younger brother named Tejashwi Yadav.
He finished his Intermediate (Class 12) through the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) , in 2010.
Career Political Career
Tej Pratap Yadav stepped into full active politics around 2015, and won election as a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Mahua constituency. From November 2015 to July 2017 he worked as the Minister of Health in the Bihar Government. After that, he also took charge as Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change , where he pushed for environmental awareness and “eco friendly” type measures.
In the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, he was elected from the Hasanpur constituency, and he stayed on as an MLA until 2025.
